Origins
- The Lolita style was born in the end of the 1980s, in answer of others "Harajuku styles" like Kogaru (Ganguro, Yamamba, ...).
- It emerged in the Harajuku quarter of Tokyo.
- First Baby, the Stars Shine Bright shop in 1988.
- Fashion way popularized thanks to Mana and his brand Moi-Même-Moitié.
- It's inspired by the Rococo and the Victorian artistic movement

- Baggy dresses and skirts (with petticoats)
- Froufrous, laces, and ribbons
- Old School : without prints
- New School : with prints
- Can't see your arms and legs skin (except for Ero Lolita)
- Your head must be "dressed" (wig, hat, headdress, ...)
- The more bulk there is, the better it is
