Origins

• The Lolita style was born in the end of the 1980s, in answer of others "Harajuku styles" like Kogaru (Ganguro, Yamamba, ...).
• It emerged in the Harajuku quarter of Tokyo.
• First Baby, the Stars Shine Bright shop in 1988.
• Fashion way popularized thanks to Mana and his brand Moi-Même-Moitié.
• It's inspired by the Rococo and the Victorian artistic movement

• Baggy dresses and skirts (with petticoats)
• Froufrous, laces, and ribbons
• Old School : without prints
• New School : with prints
• Can't see your arms and legs skin (except for Ero Lolita)

• The more bulk there is, the better it is
